Doris I. Herringshaw, Ed.D, is an Associate Professor and Extension Educator in Wood County Ohio. She currently has a part-time appointment as the Health and Wellness Leader for the Ohio State University Extension organization.
In the area of agriculture she has served as the chair of a Women in Agriculture program in Ohio for 13 years. Recently this committee coordinated efforts for farm couples and individuals to take educational trips to the Chicago Board of Trade and to Washington D.C. with visits to USDA/FSA and with the Secretary of Agriculture.
As a member of the Chamber of Commerce, she along with colleagues, have marketed the industry through the addition of an ag session at the a career day, implemented an agricultural day for the adult Bowling Green Leadership class and a day for the Youth Leadership class which includes visits to farms, ag businesses and a lunch featuring local products. Additionally, a plan is being formed for ag tourism visits to the county.
