Chris Shellenbarger is a crop insurance agent for Spartan Insurance Agency, LLC. . Spartan Insurance has agents in Michigan , Ohio , and Indiana . Chris covers the southwest area of Michigan , the most highly diversified area of the state. Her goal is to make producers aware of the options they have when analyzing crop insurance and finding the product that fits best with their risk management needs. Some of this is achieved by working with Michigan State University Extension, local FSA offices, grain marketers and agricultural lenders.

Chris was raised on a dairy farm and now resides on that farm in Clarksville , MI . She has a degree in Business Management. Prior to joining Spartan Insurance in 1991, she worked as a loan officer for the Farm Credit System and in the Risk Management division of Farm Bureau Services.

She and her husband, Steve, have four grown children. In their spare time they raise Belgian draft horses and help with the family beef farm.
