Presented here are historical Thursday cash bids and basis for corn and soybeans for seven regions of Illinois. The cash prices are those reported by the Illinois Ag Marketing Service ( midpoint of the reported range for each region) and the basis is calculated from the settlement prices at the Chicago Board of Trade. Basis is calculated as the cash price minus futures price. The cash prices prior to harvest, generally beginning in February, ( designated by ' f ' ) are for harvest delivery. Cash prices after harvest ( designated by ' s ' ) are for the spot market. During the pre-harvest period, March and July basis are calculated based on the "new crop" contracts, not the nearby contracts. The prices and basis are updated every Friday.

Basis for each region can be viewed for each contract separately or for all three contracts simultaneously and for a single crop year or as an average of the last three years, or last five years.

Basis for each contract can be viewed for all seven regions simultaneously, for each crop year and as an average of the last three years or last five years.

Charts showing three- or five-year averages use the current year's dates.
